Tree Watering

Trees need more deep watering, which you do not get from typical home irrigation. Deep watering promotes deep root growth of trees and shrubs and will help the tree be more drought-tolerant. Depending on the season, young or newly planted trees should be kept moist at all times so the roots do not dry out.

Consultation/Fertilization/Nutrition

Tree fertilization requires in-depth knowledge of tree care. Too much or too little can harm a tree, and off-the-shelf applications don’t always deliver the best results. Alta West uses only the highest quality, commercial grade fertilization products.

Diseases and insects are more likely to attack stressed trees, fertilizing encourages vitality to relieve trees from stress.

Established trees that are weakened by foliar diseases, insects, mechanical injury, soil compaction, or drought often show poor growth or dieback. Fertilizing stimulates vegetative growth which helps the tree compensate for the conditions that caused the decline.

Do not wait until a problem occurs to fertilize your trees. Trees should be fertilized a minimum of once a year to maintain the proper amount of nutrients needed to stay healthy. Remember, many problems may not occur when trees are kept fertilized, properly mulched, and watered during dry periods.
